What is behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to join Al Nasr

Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best players ever, decided to join Al Nasr, a team from Saudi Arabia.

They announced in their profile on Twitter a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo holding their jersey with no.7 at it. That immediately boosted the Instagram of this club, which had about 800k followers until Friday, when they announced their biggest signing in the club’s history. Now it’s about 4 million, and still counting. We can only presume that he will boost football in the Middle East, especially after a successful campaign for this year’s host of the World Cup, Qatar.

He joined the new club after Man Utd resign from his contract, so he came here for free. There is no official amount of his salary at the new club, but unofficially it is between 150 million to 200 million per year!!

What is his main reason to join his new club?

Probably a lack of interested clubs from Europe that Ronaldo would consider playing, especially after that famous interview when he talked about the Manchester United board and trainer. Nobody wants to risk taking Ronaldo in this shape. Just a reminder, he had a bad World Cup 2022, when even Portuguese manager Santos, decide to put him on the bench after two games. He didn’t play well even in United this season, so we can say that he passed his best. And of course, you can’t turn down this type of contract when you will receive 6.5$ every second. He will probably try to put football in the Middle East at the new level, and once more do something legendary.

His trophies and career

He was playing for Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United, and now Al Nasr and he scored 700 club goals in 943 games. He is the first player ever to score that many goals. His last goal was versus Everton back in October 2022 when he makes history of scoring 700 club goals.

His personal achievements and trophies are enormous. With Sporting Lisabon won only SuperCup of Portugal( 2002) , then he moved to Manchester United and won 3 Premier Leagues( 2006/7, 2007/8, 2008/9), 1 League Champions( 2007/08) 2 EFL Cups(2005/6, 2008/9) 1 Club World Cup( 2008) FA Community Shield (2007), FA Cup (2003/04).

He moved to Real Madrid at 2009  and he won the LA Liga trophy 2 times (2011/12, 2016/17), Copa De la Rey also 2 times ( 2010/11, 2013/14) SuperCup of Spain also 2 times ( 2012/13, 2017/18) League of Champions four times (2013/14, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18) 3 times Club World Cup ( 2014, 2016, 2017) and SuperCup of Europe two times ( 2014, 2017)

After a successful Real Madrid campaign he moved to Italian giant Juventus and makes history once more, he is the best scorer of Juventus in the last 5 years, even though he is not at the club since Summer 2021 when he moved to Manchester United. In Juventus, he won two Serie A championships ( 2018/19, 2019/20) one Italian Cup winner ( 2020/21), and two SuperCup of Italy ( 2018, 2020).
With his national team, he lead them to the Champions of Europe in 2016, and he played in the final back in 2004, when Greece defeat them. And UEFA League of Nations 2018.

Individually he won 5 Ballon D’or( 2008,2013,2014,2016, 2017), FIFA Player of the Year (2008), Golden Boot ( 2007/08, 2010/11,2013/14,2014/15), and a lot more.
